In Geneva, only 7% of people who have given their name to a street are women*.
In the township, there are currently 548 streets bearing men's names and 41 women's names. To counter this, the feminist association L'Escouade, in partnership with the city of Geneva, offers several guided tours in various parts of the city. Each course will stop in front of ten temporary plaques bearing the name of a woman* who has been dead for at least ten years and has made a lasting impression on Geneva's history. These visits are part of the project 100Elles* which aims to make women* in the streets and in the history of Geneva visible (again).
