Anti-Nymphs | Four short films | Screening + conversation

The "Anti-Nymphs" program explores feminist rereadings of Greco-Roman myths in contemporary art, proposing multiple forms of actualization of the ancient figure of the nymph.

This screening of the “Anti-Nymphs” program features four short films, followed by a conversation.

The films brought together in this program sketch out an alternative geography of the Mediterranean marked by a feminist appropriation of the myths and legends that have shaped the history of this region. The aquatic element occupies a central place in these works, which propose an understanding of nature and landscape based on a series of topographical explorations. Direct or indirect references to legends or mythological figures should be understood as a form of updating that gives them political significance.
