«Borders of all kinds» focuses on the construction of identities through borders and shows how borders, by partitioning space, differentiate and often oppose the groups concerned. The exhibition features two main types of borders: those that separate the public from the private (gender borders) and those that organize the world into nations (interstate borders). Through a wide variety of visual documents, it shows various forms of social and spatial partitioning and also shows forms of decompartmentalization and recomposition that often involve crossing borders.
