Ciné-concert: SHERLOCK JR (1924) by Buster Keaton (from 7 years)
Exceptional film-concert with pianist Nicolas Hafner!
A young projectionist at a cinema prefers to immerse himself in his favourite book, The Detective's Handbook, rather than sweep the room. During a visit to his lover's house, he is unjustly accused of stealing a watch and banished. Back in his projection booth, he falls asleep... then goes back into the film to solve his case perfectly!
A landmark film by Buster Keaton, SHERLOCK JR unfolds a bouncy detective story and makes a magnificent declaration of love to the seventh art! A burlesque artist par excellence, the man who was nicknamed ‘the man who never laughed’ because of his impassivity, ventures, as usual, into some truly acrobatic feats, notably during a memorable motorbike racing scene.
