Exhibition and literary gathering on Borges with Alejandro Vaccaro at the Maison Rousseau — Saturday, June 13, 2026 — 6:00 PM

The life of Jorge Luis Borges has left all kinds of traces over the years. Some of them are objects that have acquired the status of secret relics; others are metonymic extensions of the writer, easily recognizable around the world. The passion for tracing and rescuing this meticulous and scattered legacy from the passage of time is an exercise in philosophical redemption, as Benjamin suggested.
Every collection condenses one—and a thousand—stories: that of the very concept of collecting, that of each of its elements, that of the collector, and that of the adventures involved in the search. In this roundtable, the Argentine writers Alejandro Vaccaro (Borges’s biographer), Alejandro Roemmers (poet), and Roberto Alifano (poet and essayist) will share the most remarkable stories from their research, their most prized treasures, and the personal connection each maintains with the immortal author.
Speakers:
Alejandro Vaccaro (collector and biographer of Borges) – a mini-exhibition featuring selected items from his private collection will be presented.
Alejandro Roemmers (Argentine poet and entrepreneur)
Roberto Alifano (author, poet, and essayist)
