CONVERSATION BETWEEN SOPHIE LEWIS AND VICTOIRE TUAILLON

For this first gathering, the Les Créatives festival invites Sophie Lewis and Victoire Tuaillon to engage in a conversation around the theme of resistance.

On November 18, the festival will launch its Forum with an opening talk that promises to be both thought-provoking and inspiring. Together, Sophie Lewis and Victoire Tuaillon will explore the many forms of resistance and invite us to reflect on how we can collectively confront the challenges of our time.

Sophie Lewis (GER/UK) is an independent scholar based in Philadelphia. She is the author of Enemy Feminisms: TERFs, Policewomen and Girlbosses Against Liberation (2025). She teaches feminist, queer, and trans theory, culture, and politics at the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. Her first book, Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family (2019), was followed by Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation (2022). Her writing has appeared in literary journals like Harper’s, n+1, and the London Review of Books, as well as in newspapers such as the New York Times, and academic journals like Feminist Theory. She studied English and environmental politics at the University of Oxford, was a Fulbright Scholar at The New School, and holds a PhD from the University of Manchester.
Victoire Tuaillon (FR) is an author and independent journalist. A Sciences Po Paris graduate, she first spent three years working for the evening news on France 2 before raising goats in an Andalusian community and reading hundreds of books for a literary TV show. In 2017, she launched the podcast Les Couilles sur la table, which deconstructs masculinity, followed by Le Cœur sur la table, focused on love and emotional relationships—two critically acclaimed and widely popular shows, both adapted into essays that sold over 50,000 copies each. Her work explores justice and social and ecological issues, which she addresses through her newsletter and podcast Renverser la table, and in her new show for Arte Radio, Et parfois on gagne, where she tells the stories of victorious struggles. She also curates the essay series Les Renversantes (Éditions Leduc) and teaches yoga.
