Discover the world of illustrated readings: De Bois et d’Os on November 27 at 7 p.m. at the Bibliothèque de la Cité, as part of the Les Créatives festival.

Beyond the panels, this illustrated reading of the graphic novel De Bois et d’Os reveals the poetry and precision of the scriptwriter’s words, combined with the delicacy of the illustrator’s live drawing.
The story and its details come to life before our eyes, inviting us to dive into the daily lives of the last Penan nomads of Borneo. After two stays between cities and forest, the authors deliver a narrative shaped by the strength of the people they met and their commitment to Indigenous issues.
Through scenes of hunting, budding friendship, and acts of sabotage, we are immersed in the process of creating characters inspired by those forced to fight against logging companies to preserve their way of life.
The performance will be followed by a discussion: How can Western authors create a graphic novel about the Penan people while ensuring their portrayal remains authentic and respectful?
In partnership with the Municipal Libraries of the City of Geneva.
