ANIMATOU invites audiences of all ages to discover the best of contemporary animation through a rich programme of recent short films from around the world.
The various competitive sections (international, Swiss, documentary, experimental, for audiences aged 14 and over) showcase the diversity and creativity of the medium, including a Public Award presented by the audience during the Swiss competition.
For kids, the festival offers dedicated screenings, including the much-anticipated Best of Annecy, feature films and workshops designed to spark their imagination.
With carte blancheprogrammes featuring leading figures from the animation world, retrospectives, masterclasses, meetings and festive events, ANIMATOU celebrates animation in all its forms, welcoming families, enthusiasts, professionals and future talents alike.

Several cultural venues will host the festival, including Alhambra, Blue Cinema, the Cité Municipal Library, the Geneva Ethnography Museum, the HEAD – Geneva Campus, Institut Florimont, the Satigny Community Hall, Cinema Spoutnik, Cinémas du Grütli, Cinema Bio, the Carouge Museum and the Arcade of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève.
Private screenings will also be organised in collaboration with the Geneva Schools Department, la Maison de l'enfant et de l'Adolescent des HUG (MEA), and the Scala and Nord-Sud cinemas.
