Christian, born with rhythm in his veins and an unshakable sense of purpose, is an untamable and unpredictable musician. A percussionist since childhood, he became a self-taught drummer at fifteen and founded his first band, Leitmotiv Open Main, writing his first composition, Collective Suicide. It was then that he discovered the power of playing together.
In May 1968, Chris threw himself into social, cultural, and musical movements — community, protest, and creation became his driving forces. A few months at the conservatory taught him rhythmic theory, but life itself remained his true school. A passionate reader, he turned that love into his profession and later began publishing his own writings exploring the spiritual dimension of humanity.
Loyal to his fellow travelers, he played in numerous bands — Leitmotiv, Cythère Island, Starrider, Backstairs, Hot Butter Finger, Icebreakers Blues Band, The KI, Supersonics, Blues Power, Mystic Eyes, and Instant Présent, his improvised guitar-and-drum duo. Ever curious, Chris has explored nearly every musical style, always favoring the freedom and energy of jam sessions.
The “Collectif Flashback” brings together about twenty musicians who have joined forces to celebrate the release of the book Flashback on the Rock Years in Geneva 1960–1980.
They’ll perform around a dozen songs illustrating those magical, creative years, interpreted by:
Alain Bays, Bison (J.C. Schneider), Arnaud Defigier, Christian Degiorgi, Gianni and Renato Di Paolo, Jérôme Fischer, Olivier Gaillard, JJay Guertchakoff, Patrick Krall, Jacques Müller, Greg Richardson, André Schmid, Lyo Sickyy, Didier Tischler, Thierry Wetzel, Denis Watson, Phil Wilton & more.
