Le Corps de Claudine - Fabrice Gorgerat

"Le Corps de Claudine" by Fabrice Gorgerat, a theatre production playing at the Maison Saint-Gervais in Geneva from December 9 to 12, 2026

La scène du spectacle

Claudine leads a quiet life as part of the Swiss middle class in a typical 1970s villa, complete with a picture window and a living room fireplace. Claudine is the mother of Fabrice Gorgerat and the poignant subject of his latest show.
Suffering from Parkinson’s disease, she has been battling this chronic neurodegenerative condition for 20 years—a disease likely caused by the pesticides to which she was exposed during her childhood in the postwar era. Drawing on the story of this fragile body, Fabrice Gorgerat creates a poetic and metaphorical stage piece. Implicit in the work is the decline of an aging, hyper-technological, and increasingly fragile Europe. On stage, Fiamma Camesi, Shannon Granger, and Christophe Jaquet explore Claudine’s body. Trapped in their shrinking world, hindered in the most mundane tasks of domestic life, they struggle—silently or through confessions—within a fleeting space that resists them.
