On Wednesday 11 February 2026, the Protestant Church of Geneva will open the doors of Saint-Jean Church (temple de Saint-Jean) for a special Open Day. The public is invited to discover this church on the eve of a major transformation that will see it become a space entirely dedicated to children and their families.
Throughout the Open Day, visitors of all ages will be able to explore the church, delve into its history and discover the project that will shape its future, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Guided tours, activities for children, a presentation of the architectural project and time for discussion will punctuate the day.
Unused by the Protestant Church of Geneva (EPG) for over ten years, Saint-Jean Church is now preparing for a genuine rebirth. Between 2026 and 2027, it will be fully renovated and redesigned to host a Children’s Church (Église des Enfants), a pioneering EPG project dedicated to the spiritual life of children and their families. Open to all, this new venue will also become an integral part of the life of the Saint-Jean neighbourhood and the wider Geneva community.

4:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Guided tours of the church
Discover the history of Saint-Jean Church, explore its hidden corners and glimpse its future transformation.
(Tours depart at 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm – duration: 20 minutes)
3:30 pm – 6:00 pm | Activities for children and families
Clowning, magic, mural painting and sweet treats (waffles, candy floss, popcorn and drinks). A delight for children and adults alike!
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Presentation of the architectural project
Official presentation of the architectural project, followed by a convivial gathering with drinks, soup and raclette.
