On 17.10 at Cinémas du Grütli: Screening of Riccy by Mildred Tejada, followed by a panel on gender-based violence, in collaboration with Agenda 21 – November 25 Campaign.

Honduras, 2024, Fiction, 30’, original version with French subtitles
Riccy is 17, full of dreams, and has a boyfriend serving in the military. Her life is turned upside down the day she goes to visit him. A punchy film, this medium-length feature is inspired by a real event that shook Honduras in the 1990s: the assassination of Riccy Mabel Martínez. Her tragic fate turned her into a symbol of violence against women and the fight against the impunity protecting the military in the country.

Gender-based violence, widespread around the world, does not spare Geneva. In June 2025, the Office for the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Violence published a revealing report—the Iceberg survey—showing the scale of sexist and sexual violence in the canton. At work, in public spaces, or in private life, violence can occur anywhere. Who is particularly affected? What forms does it take, and what impact does it have on health? By building bridges between here and Latin America, this discussion openly addresses this reality and how civil society and the law are tackling this urgent issue.
