FILMAR Festival presents two screenings of Manas by Marianna Brennand at Cinélux, in collaboration with Agenda 21 – November 25 Campaign.

Brazil/Portugal, 2024, Fiction, 107’, original version with French subtitles
Synopsis:
Marcielle, 13, lives with her family in the heart of the Amazon. Her daily life seems peaceful. Yet, beyond the frame of a camera capturing the beauty of a sublime and wild nature, another reality unfolds. With determination, Marcielle confronts the silence and inertia of a community ready to turn a blind eye to the abuses suffered by women. With Manas, Marianna Brennand delivers a powerful plea against fatalism.
