The Art, Play & Society Biennial, curated by Christian Bili and Samuel Wagen-Magnon, returns for its second edition at Le Commun (Geneva) from 2 to 27 December 2025 with Side Quest for the Real. The exhibition opening will take place on 2 December at 6pm.
Art, Game & Society is an art initiative that explores practices related to gaming in order to raise awareness and address contemporary issues. Its hybrid programme combines creation, experimentation and theory to address the complexity of our era, where rules and goals are questioned and constantly called into question. In this sense, it invites visitors to discover, reflect and play.
This new edition examines social issues through the prism of LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) with an exhibition of original works produced especially for the occasion. It is accompanied by a programme of screenings, workshops, lectures and discussions bringing together artists, researchers and theorists to explore play as a critical tool for examining reality. Two guided tours will also provide an opportunity to explore the works and themes of the exhibition in greater depth. At the same time, playable workshops offer the public the opportunity to immerse themselves in the practices of LARP and playful creation, and to share a moment of play with the artists.
