« Sauvages » by Claude Barras in a film concert

Those who have already seen Claude Barras's animated film ‘Sauvages’ will surely remember the melodious sounds of the Borneo forest.

To make this forest immersion feel completely authentic, in the style of silent films, improvised percussion and bird songs will be added to the chirping, lapping and wind sounds that have already been recorded. A spellbinding, unique family experience alongside endangered orangutans.

Synopsis
In Borneo, on the edge of the great rainforest, Kéria takes in a baby orangutan found in the oil palm plantation where her father works. At the same time, her young cousin Selaï comes to seek refuge with them to escape the conflict between his nomadic family and the logging companies. Together, Kéria, Selaï and the baby monkey will fight against the destruction of the ancestral forest, which is more threatened than ever. But for Kéria, this fight will also be an opportunity to discover the truth about her origins.
