Baroque Unleashed

Stravaganza · Saison mosaïque

The Conservatoire populaire’s Saison mosaïque showcases the artistic expertise of its teachers, offering them a stage on which to share their work as artists, dancers, actors, musicians, performers and/or composers.
This year, the Saison mosaïque programme invites audiences to discover five artistic events celebrating diversity, sharing and creativity. From Cuba to European Baroque music, from contemporary harp to percussion inspired by jazz and groove, and the vibrant sound world of the Vertixe Sonora Ensemble, the programme brings different aesthetics, generations and disciplines into dialogue.
The Saison mosaïque invites you on a journey through three centuries of European music with Stravaganza. From royal courts to cathedrals, from ballrooms to chapels, this concert brings to life the rich diversity of a repertoire that has shaped our musical history. The programme features well-known composers — Charpentier, Gabrieli, Lully and Bach — alongside lesser-known figures such as Corrette and Holborne, offering a journey through festive music, dances, sacred works and virtuoso pieces.
On stage, musicians performing on replicas of historical instruments recreate the distinctive sounds of another era: violin, sackbut, dulcian, traverso, recorders, lute, trumpet, harpsichord and more. These unique timbres give each work its true identity. A concert open to everyone, whether you are already familiar with early music or discovering it for the very first time.
Featuring teachers from the Early Instruments Department, their students, and guest teachers from the Conservatoire populaire.
