Submersion games - Bryan Campbell

"Submersion games" by Bryan Campbell at the Maison Saint-Gervais from 16 to 18 avril 2026

Les deux interprètes mangent un faux poisson

When he was little, Bryan Campbell was fascinated by whales like other children are by dinosaurs. He still is today, but added to his obsessions are eroticism and ecocidal violence. Submersion games resembles a "fanfiction" freely inspired by Herman Melville's novel Moby Dick (1851). How to navigate the confusion between the violence we desire and the violence that damages us, in work, sex, relationships with the living? Between intimate reappropriation of the allegories conveyed by the original novel, sadomasochistic ritual and maritime concert, Submersion Games unfolds as close as possible to the audience.
