Guided Tour

Without the Reformation, there would be no Escalade!
The MIR invites you to (re)discover this historical reality through a guided tour devoted to one of the most famous episodes in Geneva’s history.
On the occasion of the Fête de l’Escalade, this accompanied tour will offer a deeper look into the events that took place during the night of December 11 to 12, 1602, as well as into the lives of several emblematic figures.
Did you know that Mother Royaume was a French Protestant refugee, that Théodore de Bèze wrote risqué poems in his youth, or that Queen Elizabeth I of England organized a collection to support Geneva after the attack?
These and other stories will be shared with you during this guided tour.
Guided tour free of charge; admission tickets required (according to standard rates)
