Season 25-26

Stormy and calm, organic and mechanical, bassist-composer Ulysse Loup presents his new album: 0°W.
The large ensemble of ten musicians sets Arthur Rimbaud's poem Le Bateau ivre to music. The album takes us on a dreamlike transatlantic sailing journey, blending surrealist text and contemporary jazz.
Entwined rhythms and sound textures inspired by the sea transport listeners amid the spray and dreams of faraway places.
Having sailed across the Atlantic three times, the composer imbues the poem with his salty memories. Two drum kits mark a hesitant beat, the bass makes the deck creak, accompanied by a guitar. Flute, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone are the foghorns, while a voice narrates the odyssey.
The album will be released on November 21, 2025, on the Swiss label Unit Records.
