Whimsical fruits and funny seeds

Discover the diversity of fruits and seeds and how they help plants spread

Notre médiateur scientifique montre au microscope une graine d'Euphorbe des garrigues

Juicy fruits, crunchy fruits, red ones or green ones… Tiny seeds, giant seeds, some that cling on, others that fly away… the variety of fruits and seeds is enormous! We’ll explore all these shapes and ways of travelling with the Botanic Garden’s seed curator, before making a craft to take home.

This workshop is part of the Geneva Botanic Garden’s Ateliers verts series. On Wednesday afternoons, children are invited to share our passion for the world of plants and fungi in a fun and educational way. Themed investigations, sensory discoveries, botanical explorations, and many other activities are included in the programme. The Botanic Garden’s living collections provide the setting for these workshops. They are carried out by our curators, gardeners and scientists, in collaboration with volunteers from Uni3, Geneva's University for Seniors.
