This workshop offers an opportunity to explore the close relationship between music and dance in the Shetland tradition. Led by Shetland musician and dancer Martha Thomson, a member of the all-female Shetland folk group Herkja, it will be accompanied live by Maurice Henderson and the musicians of Haltadans.
On Saturday evening, a Shetland session will take place at the Pickwick Pub. Workshop participants will be invited to join the musicians for selected tunes. The evening will also include social dancing.
