Wine bars… where you can nibble too

The wine bar is not a concept; it is a place bursting with life. The place to be, at the end of the day, for afterwork drinks. The perfect space to unwind and sip on a grand cru. To savour, share, discover. Enjoy light dishes that are ever more inventive, fresh and local. Here are the wine bars you simply have to visit!
Bombar, the brand-new bistro that knows how to please
Head down to Place des Augustins for a taste of Swiss, French and Italian wines. Bombar is definitely riding the trend for all things organic and natural. Managed by the famous Genevan chef Florian Le Bouhec, this modern guinguette with a hint of the gastronomic will serve you from 5pm, at the bar or in the salle. On the menu, small gourmet Mediterranean-inspired dishes for sharing and a wine menu that changes each week.

Tablar, for the very best things in life
With its open kitchen, green plants and captivatingly hectic feel, Tablar has captured the heart of Genevans. A place to taste local produce, natural beers and wines, and soak up the easy-going ambiance. Mostly Swiss and French wines are on offer, as well as sharing plates that fall into the category of comfort food. The aged goat’s cheese and Creusois pâté are wonderful, as well as the hard-to-resist Paris-Brest for a sweet dessert. Bonus: the sourdough bread is organic and homemade!
Feel at home at Ta Cave
With its 280 labels from France, Switzerland and beyond, Ta Cave invites you into a world of discovery. A selection of the very best wines arrive each month, and the “discovered wines” are served every two weeks. Located close to the banking district, this wine bar is known for its professional service and recommendations from the sommelier. The decor is modern and fresh, and there’s a terrace for sunny days. As a bonus, they also serve a selection of local charcuterie and cheese boards.
Qu’importe, the place to be in Carouge
Since 2004, Qu’importe has been a point of reference in the former Sardinian town. Amid an authentic interior of old stones and aged wood, you can savour a Pinot noir from Geneva, a Gamay from the Valais or a glass of Burgundy or Chianti. Sitting by the open fire in the winter or on the elegant terrace in the heart of historic Carouge in the summer, succumb to the selection of creative tapas designed by starred chef Yoann Caloué: arancini, breaded prawns and Spanish calamari and chorizo. Total indulgence!
