A unique castle to experience the Age of Enlightenment
Between nature and culture
The Swiss National Museum's headquarters in French-speaking Switzerland is located in the sumptuous Château de Prangins. As early as 1730, this prestigious residence welcomed illustrious people such as Voltaire and Joseph Bonaparte. Today, this exceptional place houses numerous permanent and temporary exhibitions on Swiss history at the time of the Enlightenment as well as the largest historical vegetable garden in the country where nearly 200 species and varieties of old fruits, vegetables, flowers, condiments, medicinal and utilitarian plants from the 18th century are planted.
