Geneva : your luxury gateway to all the famous ski resorts

When you fly to Geneva for your next ski holiday, think of adding a day or two in our international city, well-known for luxury shopping and relaxation!

The quality of the ‘Swiss-made’ label could easily be applied to all the services offered in Geneva. The city is home to more than 30 restaurants mentioned in the prestigious Gault & Millau guide, and has numerous Michelin starred establishments, which are sure to delight your taste buds.

You can get pampered in one of the many luxury spas, whether in one of the five-star hotels or in one of the urban day spas.

Of course, Geneva is also known for fine watch making. Shops selling Rolex, Chopard and Hublot watches are centrally located, as is the exclusive brand Patek Philippe, which even has its own museum with an impressive collection of objects such as watches once owned by Royal families.

Fine dining

There are many examples of restaurants in Geneva that offer a real gastronomic dining experience.
The beautiful Domaine de Chateauvieux of Chef Philippe Chevrier lies in a beautiful setting in the hilly countryside at approximately 20 minutes from Geneva. You will for sure feel pampered when eating here.

Another example of a Gault et Millau ranked restaurant is a very modern and good Peruvian restaurant called Pachacamac. One of their ‘have to taste’ main courses is their exquisite version of octopus. The moment when they lift the glass lid of your plate to reveal the steamy dish is one you’ll treasure for a long time.

Pamper yourself before or after your flight by visiting one of Geneva’s luxurious spas.

Give your skin a special rejuvenating treatment after the dry air in the mountains or after an exhausting flight.

The La Réserve resort in Geneva is a good place to combine a spa visit with a gastronomic experience and, who knows, to maybe mingle with the celebrities who often stay here.

The advantage of shopping in Geneva is that all the exclusive brands are represented in a small area.

No need to drive from one location to another – all the famous Swiss watches, quality bags and clothing brands are located within easy walking distance from one another.

This is a big time-saver if you need to catch a flight, or you’re just passing by on your way to the ski resort of your choice.

Transportation to the Ski Resorts

All the famous ski resorts are easily accessible from Geneva. Courchevel, Megève, Zermatt, Chamonix and Gstaad are all a short driving distance. The easiest way to get to the resorts is to pre-order a private car with a driver.

Companies like MBC Limousine Services offer luxury cars with drivers, either to bring you to the resort, or to take you to the shopping streets in Geneva.

The company Ski-Lifts also has a lot of services on offer, from a transfer in a Mercedes S-Class with a driver, to transfers for larger groups in luxury Mercedes Viano with leather seats and a DVD player. They even have a Stretch Hummer limousine with a dance floor!

Famous Resorts

Courchevel has a long reputation as the go-to resort of the rich and the famous. It is not surprising that Beyoncé and the Beckham family have found their way to this resort as it boasts many 5-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Megève, Megève ‘retains an old-fashioned charm and a hidden-gem status,’ according to an article in the English newspaper: The Guardian  – and we couldn’t agree more. Megève is the place to go to if you would like high quality services in a town, which doesn’t feel too crowded.
Driving time by car from Geneva: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Zermatt is a luxury resort that has managed to keep an authentic Swiss feel. The Matterhorn Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland and the best view of this natural jewel is in Zermatt – making it one of Switzerland’s most Instagrammable spots: You may have seen this photograph of the Swiss chocolate Toblerone’s triangular packaging held up (and replaced by) the actual Matterhorn peak!
Driving time by car from Geneva: 3 hours.

Chamonix is where ski instructors and mountain guides come to qualify. It is one of the most known resorts due to its location beneath the Mont Blanc. If you are an excellent skier, one of the most exclusive activities Chamonix has to offer is heli-skiing. A helicopter takes you to the Swiss or Italian side of the border and you can ski down off track from there while enjoying the breathtaking views and wide open spaces.

Gstaad has always attracted stars as visitors, from royals to Madonna. The resort has something to offer for everyone with on and off slope facilities.
