Michel Ocelot’s masterpiece, released in 2006 (from the director of Kirikou, Princes and Princesses, Tales of the Night…), arrives in Geneva for the first time in its live film-concert version! Jenane, a widow from the other side of the Mediterranean, raises two children: her own son, Asmar, and Azur, the son of a wealthy nobleman, whom she nurses. Through this shimmering and profound coming-of-age tale, Michel Ocelot speaks to us about the Other, whether a foreigner or someone from a different social class.
The Geneva Chamber Orchestra accompanies the characters live to the score by Gabriel Yared, an international star of film music and Oscar winner for The English Patient.
