What would your verdict be?

As part of the « Democracy Week » event , the Judiciary Power invites you to step into the courtrooms and experience a mock trial.

Please note that all the trials will be conducted in French and that no translation will be available.

  • 10:00–11:15 a.m. — Was the dismissal justified?

An employee says she was dismissed after speaking up about questionable practices at work. Her employer tells a very different story. With both sides presenting their case, it will be up to the court to weigh the evidence and decide what really happened.

  • 12:00–1:15 p.m. — A courtroom or a nursery ? A difficult decision

What should happen when plans for a new nursery involve a historic courtroom? A proposal to repurpose the space raises questions about the future of the courtroom and the preservation of its heritage. The court will have to decide whether the project can go ahead.

  • 1:30–2:45 p.m. and 3:30–4:45 p.m. — One robbery. Two stories. What really happened?

The evidence seems damning. The defendant, however, denies any involvement and points the finger at his half-brother. With conflicting accounts and witness testimony to consider, the court must piece together the events and determine what happened that night.

Step into the courtroom

What is it really like to attend a trial?
Throughout the day, you will experience four mock hearings based on realistic cases and see justice unfold before you. Meet the different people involved in a trial — from judges and prosecutors to lawyers, experts and witnesses — and follow the arguments, evidence and exchanges that shape the proceedings.
No legal background is needed. Whether you are simply curious or interested in finding out more about the course of a trial, everyone is welcome.
