A tour of the exhibition “What is the future?” exploring the concept of adultism. Friday 20 November from 6.00 pm to 6.45 pm. Temporary exhibition. Free, subject to booking.

Les Créatives and the MEG are joining forces for a weekend of varied activities entirely dedicated to the youngest visitors.
Museums are places where adults hold power over children. As in many areas of our society, children are rarely consulted there – and are very often overlooked.
The exhibition ‘What is the future?’ challenges these power dynamics: who better to talk about the future than those directly affected by it?
Accessible to young visitors and designed for both children and adults, this exhibition is the result of a two-year project carried out with two Year 9 classes from Geneva.
But has power really been fully delegated to the pupils in a space structurally designed by and for adults?
How has this collaboration helped to redefine the balance of power?
Has power truly been reversed?
This guided tour will explore these ideas and examine the concept of adultism within museums.
The tour will be conducted in French, is free of charge and requires booking.
The event is free but has limited capacity. If you have booked a ticket but are unable to attend, please contact the Créatives ticket office (billetterie@lescreatives.ch) so that your place can be made available to someone else.
Hosted by: Anouck Hoyois, cultural mediator responsible for young visitors and families at the MEG, and two teenagers who helped design the exhibition.
