Concert by Noé Tavelli's Double Drums Quartet at 9 p.m. at the AMR as part of the AMR's 2026–2027 concert season.

Noé Tavelli Double Drums 4tet is the new project by Geneva-based drummer Noé Tavelli (Noé Tavelli & The Argonauts, Sizzling Inn Trio). Inspired by jazz drummers who have elevated their instrument to the status of the piano and by iconic Afro-Cuban percussion ensembles, this group draws on the polyphony inherent in the drum set to transform rhythm into harmony.
By bringing together his mentor Eric McPherson with saxophonist Ohad Talmor and double bassist Fabien Iannone—both of whom are synthesizer enthusiasts— Noé Tavelli has succeeded in forming a group that blends not only a multitude of voices and timbres, but also the New York and Swiss music scenes, the traditions of jazz and bembé, acoustic and electronic instruments, and composition and improvisation.
