Dance and guitars in dialogue

The Conservatoire populaire’s Mosaic Season showcases the artistic expertise of its teachers, offering them a stage on which to share their work as artists, dancers, actors, musicians, performers and/or composers.
This year, the Mosaic Season programme invites audiences to discover five artistic events celebrating diversity, exchange and creativity. From Cuba to European Baroque music, from contemporary harp to percussion inspired by jazz and groove, all the way to the vibrant sound world of the Vertixe Sonora Ensemble, the programme brings different aesthetics, generations and disciplines into dialogue.
For this first concert of the Mosaic Season, audiences are invited on a journey to the heart of Cuba through the music of Leo Brouwer, a major figure in 20th- and 21st-century guitar music. In an encounter between dance and guitar, teachers and students from the guitar and dance departments will bring the stage to life with the colours and rhythms of Latin America. The performers will present the complete 20 Études simples, as well as Paisajes cubanos con lluvia and Paisajes cubanos con rumba, in a musical world where minimalism, serialism and Cuban folklore come together, united by a rich and vibrant rhythmic energy.
