Wamen takes her name from her grandmother. In 2016, she inherited her grandmother’s first name and chose to honour her memory on stage. Of French and Cameroonian heritage, she draws on her dual cultural background to forge a rich and unique musical identity. Through her direct and poetic songwriting, she tells stories of love – often shattered – that reflect a generation and its wounds. Following *Discipline*, which has become a veritable anthem, her *RE* project marks the end of a cycle and paves the way for a profound sense of peace.
