A playful, graphic and wonderfully unconventional neighbourhood.
In the Grottes district, you can photograph colourful buildings with curved shapes, known locally as the “Smurfs”. The façades, balconies, staircases and irregular lines create very graphic images. It is a great spot to move away from classic Geneva clichés and show a more creative side of the city. Close-up compositions work especially well, focusing on architectural details and colour contrasts.
