Temple de Plainpalais

An elegant Neo-Gothic building marking the history of Geneva's expansion beyond its ancient walls.

Built in the mid-19th century (1846), the Temple de Plainpalais is the first Protestant place of worship constructed outside the city's former fortifications. Located at the end of the Avenue du Mail, it stands out for its sober Neo-Gothic architecture and its slender spire.
