100 years on children around the world rewrite their rights
Come and discover the new photo exhibition by Terre des Hommes Suisse from October 1 to 31, 2024, on Quai Wilson
On the occasion of the centenary of the 'Geneva Declaration', the public in Geneva will be able to discover the new photo exhibition by Terre des Hommes Suisse on Quai Wilson from October 1 to 31, 2024, entitled : ‘100 years on children around the world rewrite their rights’.
This exhibition highlights the organization’s renewed commitment to children's rights by offering a contemporary perspective on this foundational text.
In nine countries (Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Colombia, Haiti, India, Mali, Peru, Senegal, and Switzerland), Terre des Hommes Suisse organized workshops where children rewrote the five articles of the 'Geneva Declaration'.
The goal was to adapt children's rights to the current realities of each country. This approach strengthens their role as agents of change by directly involving them in redefining their rights. Despite the diversity of contexts, certain rights prove to be universal. Concrete examples from these workshops are showcased in this exhibition
