YVES MASSY SOLO - HANDS AND FEET
“I've always admired organists who can play polyphony with their ten fingers and simultaneously operate the pedalboard with their feet. Since the trombone, a magnificent instrument in its own right, uses little more than the lips, the right arm and sometimes - lazily - the left thumb, there was some leeway to occupy other inactive parts of the body. Like my two feet. Thus was born my interest in the strange foot drum, developed by an ingenious and discreet instrument maker on the American continent. The path is strewn with surprises.
As for the snake, it has found a second life in the hands of another marvellous maker, this one from the Jura region, of shaped wood and upholstered leather”.
Yves Massy, vocals, trombone, snake, foot drum, electronics
8:15pm - Main stage
