LE CONCOURS DE GENÈVE – INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION
Founded in 1939, the Concours de Genève is one of the world's leading international music competitions. Its mission is to discover, promote and support young talented artists, providing them with the necessary tools to launch an international career. Each year, two disciplines are featured in rotation, including piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, viola, string quartet, voice, percussion, conducting and composition.
80e EDITION – CONDUCTING & COMPOSITION
This year, the Concours de Genève celebrates its 80th Anniversary edition with the Conducting Competition returning for the first time since 1994! The six semi-finalists selected following the first two rounds in 2025 will successively conduct the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, the Ensemble Contrechamps and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. The three finalists will then have the opportunity to conduct the OSR during two finals at Victoria Hall, including a joint final with the Composition Competition. All rounds are open to the public and will be streamed live. They will be presented by journalists Charlotte Gardner and Antoine Pecqueur.
