Ahmed Sylla
ORIGAMI
Back on stage in February 2024 with his new show "Origami", touring over 30 venues in France, comedian Ahmed Sylla will be taking over the Zeniths in 2025. He will be presenting his one-man show to audiences in French-speaking Switzerland on a single date at the Arena in Geneva on Sunday 13 April.
With performances that are as funny as they are sensitive, and at ease both on stage and on screen, Ahmed Sylla has established himself as one of the leading French comedians of the last decade. Blending self-mockery, improvisation and sensitivity, his one-man shows have won over French-speaking audiences, confirming the talent of this young comedian with a remarkable sense of storytelling and boundless energy.
In his new show, "Origami", Ahmed Sylla returns to his passion for stand-up, telling us about his first steps as a comedian and the ups and downs of life that led him to choose laughter as his vocation. Using "the art of folding" as a common thread, the comedian gives himself away in an introspective narrative full of metaphors. He takes us on a journey through time, revisiting with him the crucial moments in his career.
A multi-faceted comedian, Ahmed Sylla first came to prominence in 2011 when he appeared on Laurent Ruquier's programme On n'demande qu'à en rire on France 2. Following his many appearances, during which he played eccentric characters with grotesque and hilarious stories, his career took off and he went from strength to strength with stage shows and television appearances. Equally impressive in his roles on the big screen, he has starred in a number of French comedies, including "L'Ascension" (2017) and "Jumeaux mais pas trop" (2022) alongside Bertrand Usclat.
