“ALMO BB” by Davide Brancato and Noémie Griess, a theatre production playing at the Maison Saint-Gervais in Geneva from May 27 to June 6, 2027

Born in the 1990s, Davide Brancato and Noémie Griess embrace the visual, baroque, and queer legacy of Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. A leading figure of La Movida, he pioneered a new form of theatricality in cinema and dared to portray bodies in all their diversity. Inspired by the transgressive work of this great master, “ALMO BB” takes the form of a colorful dramatic cabaret. A series of skits unfolds, oscillating between comedy and melodrama, with a true blurring of the lines between stage and audience. Emotions run high, laughter erupts, tears flow, voices ring out, and bodies move with energy. Excess—embraced and asserted—conveys meaning and colors the performance of this stylish duo, made up, in drag, and fully immersed in this overflowing vitality.
