ANNA KAISA MEKLIN SOLO & PAULA SANCHEZ SOLO

Anna-Kaisa Meklin is a performer/composer, playing viola da gamba and organ. Her projects lie in the interstices between early music and improvised music. In her solo for viola da gamba, she searches for sounds from a wide spectrum throughout the history of the instrument, such as fragments of melody, wood sounds, noises and so on.

Situated at the crossroads of experimental music, free improvisation and performance, Paula Sanchez's work focuses on the composition/decomposition and destruction/reconstruction of a mutable sound space. With a marked interdisciplinary profile, she first found her voice as a performer and composer in the fields of theater and performance. She is distinguished by her use of extended techniques and unconventional modes of play, working with materials such as plastic, glass and elements of nature combined with voice and electronics.
