Art en Vieille-Ville (AVV) - Joint Opening
35th edition of AVV - 14 exhibitions, guided tours, Walk & Talk, meetings with artists
"Art is both an act of protest against the passage of time and an effort to transcend it." Mark Rothko
This 35th edition of Art en Vieille-Ville's joint vernissages is an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Espace Muraille gallery, and once again marks the longevity of an association faithful to its primary commitment: to offer you a selection of quality works, through a rhythmic itinerary: diversity of forms and epochs.
For this autumn vintage, Jonathan Monk reinvents the classics with humor at Espace Muraille, transforming icons into the stages of a playful itinerary. With Aliska Lahusen at Rosa Turetsky, we enter a universe where light and transparency sculpt the immaterial.
At Sonia Zannettacci gallery and L'Exemplaire, Antonio Saura and Kurt Seligmann, figures of Expressionism and Surrealism, transport us to tormented inner lands, where the landscapes of the soul unfold.
Niki de Saint-Phalle's colorful irreverence transforms our perception of urban spaces and feminine landscapes at Opera, while John Armleder explores themes of knowledge transmission at Musée Barbier-Mueller.
The tour continues at De Jonckheere for "painting the world", at Gowen for its group show on landscape, and at Patrick Gutknecht Gallery with photographs by Willy Rizzo.
This new proposal from AVV member galleries celebrates the power of art to transcend the limits of time, space and imagination, where each work becomes a destination to be explored.
Guided tours on September 19, 20 and 21, as well as the AVV Walk & Talk on the 21st, are offered during the 3 days of AVV (registration required).
