BERN IS EVERYWHERE
28 July, "BERN IS EVERYWHERE", by the spoken word collective
The spoken-word collective is deploying the national languages at TO, a proposal from the quarterly La Couleur des jours, which is programming the literary component of Regarder le glacier s'en aller.
The event takes artists' views on the disappearance of glaciers across Switzerland.
From 29 June to 29 September 2024, Regarder le glacier s'en aller, a vast art exhibition, will take place outdoors and indoors, from Geneva to Grisons and from Valais to Zurich.
It brings together a large number of partner institutions around the highly topical theme of melting glaciers.
It encourages us to face up to the reality of the changes that are already affecting Switzerland's natural and cultural landscape.
And it invites us to consider it through the eyes of artists.
La Couleur des jours is one of the venues for Regarder le glacier s'en aller. In issue 51, it gives a wide-ranging account of the event and publishes previously unpublished texts.
It has commissioned texts from writers in different national languages, and in particular from members of Bern ist überall.
The spoken word collective is bringing its texts to the stage in a mini-tour that includes the Théâtre de l'Orangerie.
In Geneva, pianist Claude Cavalli accompanies Gerhard Meister, Guy Krneta, Antoine Jaccoud and Béatrice Monnard.
