Body Percussion – Workshop with Roberto Castillo | September 27 | ADEM Montbrillant

Roberto Castillo offers a bodily transcription of Latin American rhythms. At the heart of this workshop, percussion merges with the movement of dance and theatrical expression. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the infinite possibilities of rhythm as well as the inner dialogue it awakens in each of us.

Come explore your creative potential and develop your improvisation skills! No musical instrument is required—your body will be your main tool of expression. Let your ears and imagination guide you through an exciting musical adventure!

Program:

• Expressing emotions and setting the body in motion through dance

• Introduction to body percussion by recognizing the ten basic sounds that can be produced with our limbs

• Generating rhythms in a circle to connect us as a group

• Exploring, combining, and internalizing rhythms from Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean through the body

• Choreographic sequences with humor, dance, and rhythm as guiding threads

The workshop includes printed materials to support learning and help memorize the exercises performed.
