Literary gathering on the work of Borges with Annick Louis at the Maison Rousseau — Sunday, June 14, 2026 — 6:00 PM

Borges was a key figure in literature between 1940 and 1960, a period during which he wrote his most dazzling texts, profoundly influencing numerous authors and literary movements. However, he did not achieve international recognition until later. Initially undervalued in his own country and later increasingly admired abroad, Borges gradually won over readers around the world. Today, he is considered one of the four most eminent authors of the 20th century.
In this lecture, Annick Louis will discuss the elements of his literature that fascinate intellectuals and captivate the general public, delving into the legacy he left for other writers.
Speakers:
Lecturer: Annick Louis (Franco-Argentine academic)
Presentation and moderation: Félix Terrones (Professor at the Institute of Hispanic Language and Literature – Universität Bern)
This event is organized by the association Los conjuradoswww.losconjurados.ch as part of its BORGES 2026 project, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Argentine writer’s death in Geneva.
