The boundless spirit that emanates from the dynamic Chicago-based label International Anthem was already very much present a quarter-century ago in the early works of this duo, which has since expanded to form various larger groups while still revolving around multi-instrumentalists Rob Mazurek and Chad Taylor. On their first duo album in eleven years—which, incidentally, marks their well-deserved debut on International Anthem—they reaffirm their folk-rooted futurism, blending freely improvised duets between trumpet and drums with rhythmic electronic music.

*Hyperglyph*, voted the 8th best jazz album of 2025 by The New York Times.
