COL/LAB // FONDERIE KUGLER // CONCERT
CONCERT PERFORMANCE 4tet Laboratoire COL/LAB & Louis Delignon, Friday March 14 at 7:30 PM
Program:
First part:
7:30 PM Opening: Louis Delignon, Vinyl Project
Cathy Van Eck, Back Office (4tet Lab)
Louis Delignon, Vinyl Project (Louis Delignon)
"Vinyl Project" questions the very nature of composition as an act of creation where chance and intention intertwine. Through the use of modified turntables, whimsical DIY synthesizers, and marbles randomly placed on a Euclidean disc, emerging polyrhythms and sound textures echo the impermanence of the musical experience, transforming each performance into a unique and unprecedented exploration. This ephemeral work oscillates between electronic, repetitive, and experimental music. It explores the tension between a complex rhythmic approach and familiar electronic sounds, thus creating a sound space where experimentation and dance music converge.
Second part:
8:00 PM Quartet Laboratory: COL/LAB
Juli Santacruz, Chiquero, Simon Bahr, The Mock-Up Pop-Up Medley,
Matthew Shlomowitz, Explorations in Polytonality and Other Musical Wonders, Volume 4
Arturo Corrales, Step
4tet Laboratory is an ensemble consisting of two synthesizers and two percussionists based in Bern. They perform eclectic works in collaboration with composers because it is important for them to play contemporary music. Their current artistic direction focuses on interdisciplinarity, theatricality, and experimentation with "pop" aesthetics. In 2023, they commissioned "Exploration in Polytonality and other musical wonders V.4" from Matthew Shlomowitz, released in 2024 on the New York label Carrier Records. The quartet is composed of Lis Marti, Audrey Mützenberg on synthesizers, Corentin Barro, and Romane Bouffioux on percussion/drums.
Entry by donation: suggested price CHF 15.- / 20.-
