Concertissimo – Piano concertos by Beethoven and Mozart

Tribute to Géza Anda

Portrait de Géza Anda, adossé à un piano

A truly historic practice, the "played-conducted" concerto has traversed history and is experiencing a renewed momentum today: the Géza Anda Foundation and the OCG are joining forces to pay tribute to this Hungarian-Swiss pianist, a fervent practitioner of the piano-led concerto. The three young pianists featured in this concert, all winners of international competitions, have been prepared during a workshop held in the preceding days by the renowned Christian Zacharias, a leading specialist in this discipline. A true rejuvenation...
"As its name suggests, the OCG has at the heart of its repertoire what primarily belongs to chamber music: interaction, ultra-responsiveness, and exchange. Here, punctuating the discourse of the finest pianists of our time, each will assume a share of the role usually reserved for the conductor. Every passenger enters the cockpit!" — Raphaël Merlin
