Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain 2025
Every Sunday and Monday from July 6 to September 1, Les Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain takes you on a journey through the centuries, in the company of internationally acclaimed artists.
Every summer, the Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain bring the Old Town to life with top-quality musical programming. Once again this year, we'll be setting up shop in the church of Saint-Germain, every Sunday and Monday from July 6 to September 1, 2025. Music has always been a part of everyday life, and in 2025 we're taking you back even further, to ancient Greece and its instruments that have fallen into disuse. Enjoy a variety of repertoires, from duos and chamber ensembles to quartets, quintets and octets.
** Sunday July 6 & Monday July 7 - 6:30pm
Quatuor Terpsycordes / Wendy Ghysels, violin / François James, violin / Elise Vaschalde, viola / François Grin, cello
The Terpsycordes Quartet has been a fixture on the Geneva cultural scene for over 25 years, and their success has been exponential since they won First Prize at the Geneva Competition in 2001. For this concert, they are joined by four other artists to form an ephemeral octet.
** Sunday July 13 & Monday July 14 - 6.30pm
Ensemble Zefiro
Formed in 1989 on the initiative of musicians from prestigious baroque ensembles, Ensemble Zefiro has performed all over the world, and its recordings have won prizes from the specialist press such as Diapason, Classica and Gramophone. Today, the Ensemble is a benchmark in the interpretation of repertoire for period wind instruments.
** Sunday July 20 & Monday July 21 - 6:30pm
Académie Jeunes Interprètes - Theresia Orchestra
Founded in 2012, Theresia is a European orchestra bringing together young musicians under the age of 28 from leading European institutions. Keen to bring historically informed music, mainly from the classical period, to life, they meet several times a year for residencies, including the one at the Concerts d'été in Saint-Germain. This year, they continue their exploration of Beethoven's symphonies in a period transcription of the First, for chamber ensemble. The program will be completed by a Divertimento by Haydn.
** Sunday July 27 & Monday July 28 - 6:30 pm
Patrizia Bovi and Evangelina Mascardi
Passionate about Italian medieval and Renaissance music, Patrizia Bovi founded the Micrologus Ensemble in 1984, specializing in these repertoires. Accompanied by Argentinian lutenist Evangelina Mascardi, she performs songs from Italy and Spain, from the late 15th to the early 16th centuries.
** Sunday August 3 & Monday August 4 - 6:30 pm
Laureates of the Geneva Competition
For its concert dedicated to the laureates of the Geneva Competition, Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain invites Chelsea Marilyn Zurflüh and Jungrae Noh Kim, First and Second Prize respectively in the 2024 edition. Accompanied by pianist Fernando Loura, the two singers will share the stage in Lieder, duets and opera arias programme.
** Sunday August 10 & Monday August 11 - 6:30 pm
Ensemble Les Éclats
Founded in 2024 by Mathurin Bouny, the ensemble Les Éclats brings together a group of friends with a passion for Baroque music, eager to offer a true Baroque concert experience, daring to be irregular and unexpected. The ensemble's youth has not prevented it from winning the Prix Tremplin from the Leenaards Foundation, which has supported Les Éclats since its inception.
** Sunday August 17 & Monday August 18 - 6.30pm
Ensemble Melpomen
Largely under-represented in concert, the music of ancient Greece is no less intriguing. Ensemble Melpomen has made it its mission to present the music of this era to a wider public, on rare and little-known instruments.
** Sunday August 24 & Monday August 25 - 6:30 pm
Chouchane Siranossian
A versatile musician with a wide range of repertoires, violinist Chouchane Siranossian is delighted to give a recital at the Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain. Introduced to early music - on period instruments - later in life, she will offer an eclectic program demonstrating the vast range of her talent, from Baroque to contemporary.
** Sunday August 31 & Monday September 1 - 6.30pm
Sorelle - Winners of the Osez! 2024 - Ponticello
Sorelle is a show featuring the Baroque paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi, reconstructed live by male and female singers performing works written by the artist's contemporary composers. Against a lute background, the idea is to demonstrate the enduring nature of the issues addressed by the Italian painter, and to question what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to creation. All Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain concerts are free admission, with collection at the door.
