The golden age of this saxophonist's extraordinary musical career was marked by the formation of his quartet with Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade, which went so far as to confound all preconceived notions of jazz over 24 prolific years of award-winning concerts and recordings. Shorter's great musical legacy lives on in this quartet augmented by Ravi Coltrane, who completes this inspired exploration of the unknown.
