What if every voice really did count? Close-Up brings together amateurs and musicians from Contrechamps in a collective production inspired by Deep Democracy.

Close-Up brings together amateur musicians and members of the Ensemble Contrechamps, with the aim of making contemporary music accessible, vibrant and participatory.
This year, the ensemble is taking it a step further with a collective creation inspired by the concept of ‘Deep Democracy’, an inclusive decision-making methodology that prioritises minority voices within groups in order to promote harmony and a flat hierarchy. The resulting musical work will be performed at the Archipel Festival, and then staged again at the Museum Tinguely in Basel.
