Six candidates, an orchestra, a variety of interpretations: the semi-finals of the Geneva Competition showcase the conductors of tomorrow, focusing on Ligeti and the great works of the repertoire.

As part of the semi-finals of the Geneva Conducting Competition, six candidates will conduct the Ensemble Contrechamps in major works from its repertoire. This will give our audience the opportunity to enjoy a variety of interpretations under the baton of the semi-finalists – a fascinating experience for our regular musicians. Each candidate will conduct György Ligeti’s Kammerkonzert for 45 minutes as the competition’s set piece, as well as one of two works of their choice.
