Dance lives, dance!
It starts with a fall. The one that makes Louise Hanmer lose the full use of her left hand. For a dancer, it is like a break in the harmony of the body, a gesture suddenly interrupted. Necessity, like intuition, requires him to extend it into writing.
To say what we are and where we come from, to put words to the evils, to find the right distance from these lives that go through us or that we go through. The tension within Dense/scenario is thus born from the alternation of anecdotes and more tragic episodes, especially when it comes to evoking a sister with Down syndrome. However, the dancer's speech never allows itself to be weighed down by gravity: the initial fall is answered by elevation – and humour, as if lightness compensated for the certainty of emptiness. Moreover, Louise leaves this emptiness in her rightful place, that of a dreamlike time where she reappropriates old movements, old dances, like the famous Moonwalk that she rehearsed with her sister. Other references, often cinematographic, punctuate this delicate and intimate Dense/screenplay that goes back to the sources of the dancer's career. A formidable speech that transcends the discipline it seizes.
